What to Expect

Our biggest and most exciting competition of the year!

Destination Dance will host a National Final at the end of each competition season which is by invitation only. To qualify you must attend one of our regional competitions. This exciting event which will be packed with world class competition and exciting opportunities for all its competitors.

Schedule

  • Friday 3rd June 2022
    • All Elementary and Junior entries (11 and Under)
    • Awards/ Showdown and Dance Idol performance (11 and under)
  • Saturday 4th June 2022
    • All Teen/Senior/Adult (12+ entries)
    • Awards/Showdown/Dance Idol performance (12+)

How to enter

Once you qualify at our regional competition you will be sent an invitation to enter our National Finals.

Please note each regional will have an allocated number of entries for nationals. We operate on a first come first serve basis and those entries who do not make it in the competition in time will be added to a waiting list. If any space becomes available from later competitions those spaces will be offered to those on the waiting list.

Rules

National FINALS

  • You must compete the same number that qualifies at regionals at our national competition
  • Categories, time limits, ages, music and general rules are the same as the regional competitions
  • Payments are due no later than one month before the event and we do not issue refunds.
  • We will hold a National Title competition
  • All scoring, and general prizes are the same as our regional events. Please note we will not award a best in show winner at nationals as the winners of our Showdown will be crowned the Destination Dance performance of the year.

  • Dance Idol winners must attend rehearsals to be eligible to perform in the opening number of the showdown.
  • Age category is determined by the age you were when you qualified at our regional competition
  • You will compete in the same age category as you qualified in. If your ages changes mid season and bumps you up a category, please contact john.destinationdanceuk@gmail.com and he will ensure you can compete in the age category you qualified in.
  • SUBSTITUTION: Regional qualifying routines may substitute dancers, except solos. However, routines must contain at least 50% of the original qualifying dancers in order to participate in National Finals.

The Showdown
The best acts of the year battle it out

During our national final, judges will choose performances to be invited back to perform again at our showdown at the end of the competition day.  We will have one showdown per competition day. Dances can be a solo, duo/trio or group and be any age or dance style. These  routines will battle it out to be crowned the Destination Dance performance of the year.
