What to Expect

Our biggest and most exciting competition of the year!

Destination Dance will host a National Final at the end of each competition season which is by invitation only. To qualify you must attend one of our regional competitions and receive a gold plus or platinum medal. Those dancers who qualify will be invited to perform at this exciting event which will be packed with world class competition and exciting opportunities for all its competitors.

Schedule

  • 24th July – Scholarship Auditions, Rehearsals for Dance Idols, and Workshops
  • 25th July - Competition
  • 26th July - Competition and Showdown with dance idols performance

How to enter

Once you qualify at our regional competition you will be sent an invitation to enter our National Finals.

Please note each regional will have an allocated number of entries for nationals. We operate on a first come first serve basis and those entries who do not make it in the competition in time will be added to a waiting list. If any space becomes available from later competitions those spaces will be offered to those on the waiting list.

Rules

GRAND FINALS

  • To qualify for our National Finals you must receive a Gold Plus or Platnium medal at one of our regional competitions
  • You must compete the same number that qualifies at regionals at our national competition
  • Performance schedules are sent out 3 weeks prior to the event
  • Categories, Time Limits, ages, music and general rules are the same as the regional competitions
  • Payments are due no later than one month before the event and we do not issue refunds
  • There is a limit of 3 solos per contestant all of which must receive a gold plus or platnium medal
  • We will hold a National Title competition (rules of which are the same as regionals
  • All scoring, and general prizes are the same as our regional events. Please note we will not award a best in show winner at nationals as the winners of our Dance off will be crowned the Destination Dance performance of the year.
  • Dance Idol winners must attend rehearsals to be eligible to perform in the opening number of the showdown.

The best ten acts of the year battle it out

During our Grand finals, judges will choose ten performances to be invited back to perform again at our showdown at the end of the competition. Dances can be a solo, duo/trio or group and be any age or dance style. These ten routines will battle it out to be crowned the Destination Dance performance of the year in this exciting live streamed performance.

Dancers are invited to take part in our Friday workshop series. Get yourself ready for the competition ahead with three Classes and audition in front of College and agency agency representatives.
This is an amazing experience and will take place at Pineapple Dance Studios on the 24th July
